Well first of all let me say thank you for stopping by
"Jackie's Doll Cottage"
I'm hoping that it will be a fun and interesting place that
you will come back to often.
About 4 Years ago I worked as a Phlebotomist, you know those people,
NOT the vampires, but the ones that take your blood and charge you for it :]
I use to drive to nursing homes and all over the countryside to collect it.,
As you all know in life things don't always stay the same,
slowly my legs and back weren’t doing what they should,
and I needed an operation on my lumbar and then found out the Doctor didn't
do a hot job and made it worse,
so now I am looking after 2 small boys and a fantastic daughter,
I decided it was time to find something to do with my life.
A friend I met on the Internet, I will call her “My Friendly Angel”
talked me into making primitive dolls, Cloth dolls with the very old,
rugged look to them, and slowly I wanted to try to sculpt faces,
so I sat down and tried to teach myself how to do this task.
Five hours later the “Plumpkins” were born.
SO sweet and cute and well you see just so squeezable adorable!
I want to tell you I have all kinds of ideas on many many of them, but
I know you all have even more of them,
so don't be shy about it either , just speak up.
I grew up in a very LARGE family, there were 10 of us kids and mom
and dad and we made a lot of our own
dolls ourselves out of rags and old clothes. So I am an old pro at some of these,
now those dolls would be very primitive now. Now I am all grown up and what,
look who is still making dolls, yep your right, you caught me,
but I love it!. AS much as YOU like having them, I like making them.
I have a beautiful daughter, who I owe a lot of my strength to,
she has gotten me through a lot these past few rough years,
by always being there and encouraging me and
even get mad at me so I didn’t give up!
She is a treasure to the “Plumpkins” creation, And not forgetting my
little pride and joy of the Plumpkins is Anthony,
who takes the credit for the dimples in the Plumpkins’ tushies!
He makes me smile every day with no fail, His little
brown eyes and dimpled cheeks
get their little kiss and hug every day!
And there is Zachary, who is a special needs child, who is a handful,( deleted a word)
but keeps us up and going everyday.
This is why I know God is leading me in the right direction and hopefully with
his help and guidance I will be able to make many people happy with
OUR family’s little PLUMPKINS. SO come back often and see what new in
our little family of PLUMPKINS!!!
